If you aren't all that familiar with boilers, then you may not recognize the signs right away. Here are some of the things that can happen with your boiler:
Your pilot light is out – If you are an experienced boiler owner, then you may know how to take care of this on your own. However, if you aren't, then it is best to have someone come out and take care of it for you.
The boiler isn't putting out enough heat – If your boiler isn't putting out enough heat, then it may be a problem with the thermostat, the run capacitor or something else. You'll want to get a technician out to diagnose and repair the issue right away. If it appears something may be wrong with the system it may be a good idea to turn it off until they arrive, so you don't make things worse.
The boiler is leaking – If your boiler is leaking water, then this needs to be addressed immediately. You'll want to turn off the power to the boiler and stay away from the area until the technician arrives.
